2018 Lund 1875 Impact XS, Merc 150, rear livewell. two problems that showed up the same weekend on Kampeska. the fill takes 12 minutes where it used to take 3, and once it is full the level drops about an inch every ten minutes with the drain plug in and the pump off. the aerator timer still cycles, i can hear the pump, but it is not moving much water.
i can get to the pump through the rear compartment. before i start pulling things, what is the order of operations on these. is the slow fill the pump or the intake, and is the leak the drain plug seal or the overflow tube. i would rather not drop the whole floor.

two different problems, two different parts. slow fill on that boat is almost always the intake, not the pump. the fill pump pulls through a screened pickup in the transom with a check valve inline so the well does not drain back through the pump when it shuts off. the screen plugs with weeds and zebra mussel bits, and the check valve sticks. pull the hose off the pump inlet with the boat on the trailer and look at the screen from outside the transom with a flashlight. if the pump runs strong with the hose off and weak with it on, it is the intake side.
the leak is the other side. with the plug in, water leaves two ways: the drain plug o-ring, or the overflow standpipe seal where it seats in the well floor. pull the standpipe, look at the o-ring, they flatten after a few years. if the o-ring is fine, look at the overflow hose behind the well, the clamp at the through-hull fitting works loose and the hose weeps into the bilge every time the well is full. that is a two minute fix with a screwdriver and the most common one i see.

the owner's manuals for the Impact are on lundboats.com under owner resources, and there is a plumbing diagram in there for the livewell that shows the pickup, the check valve, the pump and the overflow with part names. saved me a lot of guessing on my 1875 Pro-V, the layout is close to the same. the check valve on mine was a 34 dollar part from the dealer and it was the slow fill exactly like yours.

while you are in there. on Mille Lacs in august the water is 76 degrees on top and a full livewell of walleyes will die in an afternoon on fill only. i run the pump on recirculate with a frozen water bottle in the well and only top it off every hour. the timer on those Lunds has a recirc setting most people never switch to. and the fish do a lot better with the aerator spray at the surface, not under it, so set the nozzle up.

related, since my Raptor has the same rear layout. i chased wet rods in the port rod locker for a season and it was the livewell overflow hose weeping behind the bulkhead every time the well was full. the water ran along the stringer and into the locker from below. the clamp was loose, not broken, and i had a rusty pile of jig hooks and a warped rod tube to show for it. worth checking your lockers while the well is full and the boat is level.

done, both of them, for 43 dollars. check valve was stuck half open, new one from the dealer in Watertown, 34. the overflow hose clamp at the through-hull was loose enough to turn by hand, tightened it, 0 dollars. drain plug o-ring i replaced anyway for 9 while i had it out. fill is back to 3 minutes and it held a full well for four hours on Waubay saturday with no drop.
and red_river_cats called it, there was a damp corner in the starboard rod locker with a rusty ring around a jig box. dry now. thanks all.
